its funny how django unchained is tarantino's most disturbing and funniest film yet.

the scene with jonah hill was so hilarious.
it was the funniest thing i've seen in a long time.

You seen Do The Right Thing ? One of my all time favourites. Fight the power Clockers is another good one, and I have a lot of time for Inside Man. One of those I end up watching to the end when it frequently pops up on ITV2 . . .
Lee is an awesome filmmaker, I absolutely love many of his films and I'd be hard pushed to say who I prefer out of him and Tarantino even though they are diametrically opposed as artists.

I do however think that Lee is a shameless self-promoter and a lot of his outbursts in the past have coincided worth the release of one of his own films.

But what films! DO THE RIGHT THING is in my all time favourite top ten. CLOCKERS, JUNGLE FEVER, MALCOLM X, SUMMER OF SAM and 25TH HOUR are all great too.

...and next year we have his remake of Oldboy ! Don't think I've ever been this curious about how a Hollywood remake turns out. I imagine it will be a completely different beast, can't imagine Lee trying to replicate what has gone before. Main cause for concern is that he is working from a screenplay by the writer of the Will Smith I Am Legend and the Poseidon remake . . .

Part of me is interested to see what he's going to do but it's a film that I think should have been left alone. I'd imagine that OLDBOY is more akin to the mainstream INSIDE MAN (which I loved, BTW) than it will to Lee's more sombre work.

It's quite hard to judge. Just hope it hasn't been dumbed down for a mass audience. The caliber of writer involved suggests that's exactly what they've done. But can't see Lee churning out a piece of Hollywood tat. Like you say, even his most mainstream film, Inside Man, has plenty going for it. Curious. Very curious . . .

Quentin Tarantino has announced that Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds are part of a trilogy. The next film will be titled Killer Crow and will be about a black military unit going rogue in World War II. Characters from Inglourious Basterds may make an appearance as well. No doubt Lee will have a problem with this one too

He actually said that he would like to make it his next film and that he has the first half of the script locked and ready to roll but still needs to finish the second half. As for the title he said he would probably name it Killer Crow or something like this. It's not set in stone and may not happen, Tarantino is well known for saying he wants to this and he wants to do that. Remember he said he was going to do a Vega Bros movie, then Kill Bill Vol.3 and now this, he also said he wanted to do a 1930s style gangster film along the lines of White Heat and The Untouchables. Untill he's actually rolling, everything that is published on line or in magazines is just rumor and speculation.

He also mentioned doing a remake of COME DRINK WITH ME and a FRIDAY THE 13TH film too! Like you said mate, he's run his mouth a lot over the years.
