I think every Fulci film has an absolute unreality basis. But I think each of his films has something in it worth catching.

I'd agree with the D here, even if I'm not in the mood, cough Aenigma cough, there's still always something worth remembering in his work, love showing folks The House of Clocks etc, as it's not something theyll have seen on the whole even if they know the name through the more famous films.

He will continue to polarise opinion into the next century imo.

Uh....yeah. So I've edited it to make more sense. Even I didn't understand it - and I wrote it!

Yeah, I think I missed my vocation in life. I should've scripted Italian horror films!

I really struggled to get through Demonia (no pun intended Dae) I've only seen it the once but it was a bit of a chore.

Having said that typing this has brought it back to my thoughts so i may have to dig out the Shriek Show disc soon.

Oh yeah! This is one of my favorites by him, i think it may even be the first i saw back in the day - of course here in the US it was called Gates of Hell. The intestine barfing scene almost made my sister puke.

Of all the Italian works i enjoy Fulci most due to his way of presenting his movies. He seemed to always end them with a sense of dread - even if your main characters live at the end he still leaves them scarred by the ordeal, whether it be in City where our heroine screams, or From Beyond where they live only to find themselves trapped in damnation. I love the atmosphere created in his movies, bleak dusty towns and fog filled cemeteries. It was and still is what i look for in horror.
