That ending in rats is pant wettingly funny. How the actors kept straight faces is beyond me.
Ahh,we miss you bruno.
On a similar note, anyone seen one of mattei's last completed films, snuff trap?

Well - it was watchable. Dubbing - which was to be expected was absolutely dire. Luckily for a portion of the film the lead cast members wore balaclava's, which masked the situation. No pun intended.

The gore is typical Mattei, some understated, but the majority very excessive ! which is good The thing that hampers this though is the really cheap make-up for the zombies which is woefully unconvincing.

Storyline is fine up until the final 20 minutes where it takes a turn for which the term 'bizarre' comes nowhere near to describing it.

Acting is dodgy, but hey - who ever saw a Bruno Mattei film for the performances.

Overall - I'd give it a 3.5/10. I'll stick it in my collection now, but I really doubt I'll re-watch it within the next 5 years or so. It would make a decent appetiser for a Bruno Mattei appreciation night perhaps !

I haven't got around to any of his films yet, but I'm inspired to add "Rats" to my rental list.

I never thought Mattei could make a worse movie than Zombie Creeping Flesh until i saw Caligula & Messalina. I couldn't wait for it to end, it was soooo boring. If you like seeing Donkeys and Horses having sex then go out and buy it, everyone else steer well clear.

I once saw a heavily cut version of Caligula & Messalina on the cinema and most of the audience walked out by the halfway mark.
