Listened to quite a bit of Venom for the first time today on YouTube. I hadn't really listened to their stuff before but now I luv it. I can definetly see how people call them the founders/biggest influence of death metal. Liked it so much, I just ordered their first CD, Welcome To Hell

Venom! There's a name from the past. Presently as far removed from Venom as you could possibly go with Vashti Bunyan playing tonight.

Sorry, just felt the need to correct that. They did influence numerous sub-genres of metal but they essentially founded Black metal.

Well, I listen to anything and everything in the music world but yes, Death/Black metal are two of my favourite metal 'sub' genres.

Jason has given the album the thumbs up!
After a good few listens I am still well impressed although I do prefer the longer tracks to the shorter 'singles'. The album is basically one half singles and one side epics!
My only complaint is that I really miss Derek Riggs' covers. The post Riggs Eddies have been ok but not a patch on the classics.
