Because of the earlier exchange I'm listening to Kobra and the Lotus' albums in order (I've never listened to them before) and really enjoying what I'm hearing. Brittany Paige has a great voice, probably comparable to peak Bruce Dickenson, and I don't think I've come across a bad song yet.

I've been listening to Duff McKagan's autobiography and it's interesting how he understands this song to be a third person viewpoint on how Reagan's America became intolerant, but the use of the N-word saw it used by white supremacists and 'faggot' led to GNR's introduction to play at a benefit concert for AIDS and HIV victims being revoked.

According to the Wikipedia page, Axl Rose's justification for using the words is somewhat different and not exactly comforting. That's possibly why Rose's bandmates initially wanted the song dropped from the album.

I haven't been listening to this song, but I knew there was a new edition of Appetite for Destruction being released shortly, and interestingly One in a Million is not included on the four disc box set.

I haven't seen a press release regarding its omission, but the controversy over the lyrics since its release might make the inclusion of that song an issue for some retailers, perhaps similar to the trouble Nirvana experienced with Walmart because of the artwork on In Utero.
