Anyone catch the two hours of Neil Young on BBC4 Friday night - I really enjoyed it. The doc was pretty good, pity it wasn't longer and the gig from '71 was fantastic... Definitely we need a good solid Neil Young film along the lines of No Direction Home - what with the breadth of Young's styles over the years and his films like the very weird Human Highway with Devo and the 1972 avant-concert film Journey Through the Past...

Currently spinning the new Ryan Adams & Janes Addiction albums! Both of which come highly recommended!

Thanks for that. Good band that Joy Division. Actually that reminds me of something Peter Hook once said. He was asked (in an interview) who the laziest member of New Order was and his answer was Ian Curtis, as he hadn't done nothing for years!

lol.

I never used to like Joy Division but I've started to appreciate them over the last year or so.

I love New Order, they're possibly my favourite band.

Pete have you seen Paul Morely's New Order doc doing the rounds on Sky Arts ? It's actually well worth catching, made around the time of Republic and pretty eccentric, not the usual Behind the Music rubbish...

I had the pleasure of seeing Peter Hooks band Monaco followed by headliners New Order at the Reading Festival in either 98 or 99, can't remember which. Both were really entertaining, especially New Order who had the whole field singing along, highlight of the festival for me, by far. Plus Peter Hook produced the excellent Elephant Stone single by The Stone Roses so he'll do for me.
I think another watch of 24 Hour Party People is in order
