Audacity. It's absolutely intuitive and free! I use it to edit my podcasts too.

I've been listening to Arthur Brown's Fire far too much lately - I just cant stop listening/singing to it! I came across this video of him performing it the other day - the guy sure has some moves...not! He's a nutter!
