Been listening to one of the most prolific music producers of all time, the mighty Muslimgauze, whose recordings (old and new) are still being released to this day even though he died in 1999! He was so unbelievably prolific that his nephew and his old labels continue to unearth new material.

His politically charged Middle Eastern influenced electronic compositions are something I dip in and out of constantly and keep on finding amazing gems - highly recommended.

Muslimgauze - Hab Al Zeitoun - Alms For Iraq

Muslimgauze - Mumbai Vibe Garden

Muslimgauze - Hafizz Maidan

Also been listening to a lot of Wire recently. Particularly these tracks:

Wire - Ahead (II)

Wire - Let's Panic Later

And I've been REALLY digging this Umberto guy on the Not Not Fun label - if you like Fabio Frizzi, John Carpenter or Goblin I urge you to check his stuff out.

Umberto - It Came From The Swamp

Umberto - Red Dawn

Umberto - Running Blade

F*ck, the Muslimgauze stuff is very good indeed. Thanks for posting it, it's nice to listen to stuff outside of my normal musical cul de sac of folk, rock n roll, garage punk etc.

Hi stuff is definitely worth checking out. The MuslimTapes section of this fantastic fan site has some free albums.

Yeah, I like him too... His discography rivals Merzbow for sheer numbers. A lot of his stuff really is years ahead of its time. And I think he left a huge archive of unreleased stuff before he died...

There are loads of Muslimgauze releases on Spotify. I'll start working my way through them over the coming weeks.

@Phurious, thanks for the link.

Quality-wise I'd go with Muslimgauze though, he never ceases to amaze me really.

If you're a fan of his stuff then you might already be familiar with DJ/Rupture and his Nettle project - if not though, well worth checking out. In fact anything on the The Agriculture label is a must.

The arctic wolf staring out from the sleeve gives a clue to the chilly ambience of this 1995 album from Alec Empire, a world away from the digital hardcore thrash of Atari Teenage Riot, with it's dark glacial drift, ultra-low frequencies and Industrial scrapings. A genuinely eerie piece of electronica...

to wit folks, have just ordered the Umberto CD version from notnotfun.com, limited as **** (500), so youve been warned!

otherwise after unpacking half my cds, first thing that went on was The Fall.

The Fall - Bury! PTS 2 + 4 (2010) - YouTube
