Their recent ish work sounds like a cross between Moonspell and female fronted symphonic metal.
I had their or maybe still have their first album I honestly can't remember anything about it I bought it when it came out but I do sllike the sound of that song you posted.

I will have to check out some of those other bands I'll definitely listen to some more Epica now I know who they are I'm sure I just saw the clips on Instagram when I was on there.

Nightwish - Sleeping Sun

Oceanborn (1988)

Nightwish taskmaster general Tuomas Holopainen can f*ck about with orchestras and movie soundtrack influences as much as he wants but they'll never beat this stunning ballad sung by the band's greatest singer.

Indica - Straight and Arrow

A Way Away (2010)

I also love Indica. Very different to Epica as they are very melodic and catchy.

Avatarium - The Girl with the Raven Mask

The Girl with the Raven Mask (2015)

Not so much symphonic as Doom.

Avatarium - Pearls and Coffins

The Girl with the Raven Mask (2015)

I don't think i've seen this video before. Epic song, superb guitar from Leif Edling and Jennie Ann Smith has one of the best voices in metal.

Tarja - Dark Christmas

Quote:
"Dark Christmas" is the highly anticipated second volume of Tarja's 2017 album "From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas)" - a surprise hit and on-going strong seller. This time, Tarja has added a haunting twist to classic Christmas hits and carols with the addition of a children's choir. For those who want to embrace the holiday spirit while exploring a more mysterious side of the season, Dark Christmas is the perfect album.

Default Paradise Lost - Widow

For the 30th anniversary of Icon Paradise Lost have re-recorded the full album. I reckon that the vocals on quite a few tracks will be far better now as Nick Holmes is a much more accomplished singer than he was on Icon.

Only one song is available so far, Widow. However I'm slightly disappointed by the overall production, it's a little bit muddy compared to the excellent Obsidian.
