As promised ... when I got home there was a cd waiting. Mate said he'd been listening to Big Black and ended up buying this for me. This being Rudimentary Peni's 2nd longplayer Cacophony. A bonny remaster/reproduction/facsimile etc. A rather singular sound. The more Fall my mate listens to ... the more psychick he becomes .
Ahem.

One Minute Silence? Are you having a dodgy Nu-Metal phase?

Still you made up for it with Cruxshadows.

I'm interested to find out what the later PWEI album is like. It's been in my wishlist for ages but never took the plunge.

Nice buying binge, b_e.

Nostalgia! I used to own both of those albums years ago and can remember enjoying them overall so for around £2 each from Music Magpie, I thought I'd give them another shot.

There are some complaints that it ditches some of the sampled drum loops etc. that they were infamous for on their previous albums, but I enjoyed what little I listened to on Youtube so for £2.99 thought it was more than worth it.

Seems to be the case, sadly. Everything sounds a little 'harsher' (for want of a better word) than before. Clint Mansell's lack of presence is certainly felt, although I'm interested to dig into this one in its entirety when it arrives.

Buying music does seem to be some sort of addiction doesn't it?

I seem to be buying three or four a week now, back catalogue stuff mainly and reasonably inexpensive, but i wasn't doing it this time last year.

I blame bizarre_eye. He's a terrible influence.

It certainly is addictive.

I in turn blame Music Magpie and their ilk for tempting and tantalizing me with their buffet of cheap CDs!

Yes they are also a major factor.

I look and see Aerosmith, Queen and Van Halen albums i don't have and have to physically stop myself clicking buy constantly.
