I bought a few soundtracks recently. I'm waiting for Hans Zimmer's Rain Main and Daft Punk's TRON Legacy to hit the mat but recently received the 3-CD set of Bear McCreary's score for the TV show "Human Target".
If you like the action movie scores produced by John Williams then you'll get a blast from this score. McCreary worked with a full orchestra (about 80 musicians or more); unusual for a TV show now.
Sadly, the new producer of Season 2 (who also produces Chuck) ditched McCreary in favour of "needle-drop" songs and new music by the same guy that does the Chuck soundtrack. In other words, the same kind of thing that countless shows do (like the CSIs). Poor.
McCreary recently worked on The Walking Dead and came to prominence through his superb scores for Battlestar Galactica.

After watching Richard Stanley's Hardware recently I thought I'd post the awesome theme song: Public Image Ltd - Order of Death:

Fits the film perfectly, and has that fantastically melancholic edge.

And what a fantastic score he did, especially his version of All Along The Watchtower. Kind of came from nowhere. Enjoying his work on The Walking Dead too.

Added Suspira, Opera and Dawn Of the Dead to my Ipod today. Nothing like a bit of Goblin.

Great track! If a bit repetitive. Also used in the TV series Miami Vice.

I'm currently listening to Daft Punk's score for Tron Legacy. It's a combi of pulsating synths and Hans Zimmer-esque orchestral music. The themes are simple and effective;. Can't wait to see the movie next Tuesday.

McCreary's score has been effective for TWD but used minimally. I'm not used to that Normally, his score music features quite heavily in the shows he contributes to. Strangely, in episode 5 of TWD a cure from the Danny Boyle movie Sunshine is used.

I'm always up for a Goblin Check out their score for Contamination if you haven't already. It was also used, to good effect, in Zombie Creeping Flesh.

always get them confused, i should have known it was James Horner....D'oh.
His Star Trek music sounds exactly like Krull and BBTS.

Great song. This was named after the alternate title of Corruption or Copkiller. My dad had a virgin VHS of it under the title Order Of Death, I always used to think the song was on Copkiller.
