It's a compilation from other soundtracks of the era, half the tracks are from Absurd!

The music on my CD from the special edition contains the original music from the Spanish cut, not the US one. I'm sure this will be the case of the upcoming lp.

Description

First Official Vinyl Release From Arrow - Exclusive To Just 500 Copies.

ARROW RECORDS proudly present the original soundtrack to Juan Piquer Simón’s gore-drenched slasher from 1982, Pieces.

This classic horror score boasts a compelling selection of nerve-jangling themes drawn from the legendary CAM library, with compositions by Fabio Frizzi (Zombi 2, The Beyond), Stelvio Cipriani (Nightmare City), and Carlo Maria Cordio (Absurd).

This limited clear vinyl edition of the Pieces soundtrack has been newly-mastered from the original 1/4" analogue tapes by James Plotkin and is presented on 180 gram wax, housed inside a 350gsm sleeve. The edition features newly commissioned artwork by Marc Schoenbach and accompanying film notes by Stephen Thrower.

£24.99 - Save: £5.00
I love how they make a big deal of this.

The vinyl can be as heavy as a bleedin' house it matters not. It's all about the groove depth and pressing plants nowadays are so short in supply the grooves on the vinyl are not as deep as they were in the 80's because they have to churn em' out as quick as possible.

Oh and as for the second bit - It's in a cardboard sleeve. That really isn't a bonus either.

The CD tracklisting is the same as my LP

Track 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 16 from the Film Un' ombra nell' ombra (Pier Carpi, 1979)
Track 6 from the Film Sette ragazze di classe (Pedro Lazaga, 1979)
Track 8 from the Film Taxi Girl (Michele Massimo Tarantini, 1977)
Track 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 from the Film Rosso sangue aka Absurd aka Anthropophagus 2 (Joe D'Amato, 1981)

They used library tracks rather than hire a composer.

As it's 180g then groove should be deep
