New radio serial, with McCoy this time, from next monday BBC R4XTRA 18.30 GMT. I think it's the first of two stories.....

I'd certainly buy that boxset. I love the early Pertwee stories.

Just picked up Daemons. It's a wonderful DVD set. Great story and wonderful documentaries especially the one on Letts. I highly reccomend it.

First part of "A Thousand Tiny Wings" was ok, McCoy in Kenya during the Mau Mau uprising has found an alien lifeform...the rest of the cast seem to be channeling "Tenko" though haha....

Was refering to the "stiff upper lip" personas the cast seem to be playing, there is a character the the Doctor recognises, but as this is the first McCoy Big Finish story i've heard, i'm just going along for the ride......

McCoy does a great job in the audios but so far Colin seems to come alive the most in them. It's like his Doctor was made for them.

Just received my The Deadly Assassin
New Beginnings

DVD and boxset respectively. I can't wait to rewatch these stories and delve into the special features. All of these stories are ones I really enjoyed especially The Deadly Assassin.

Anyone else reading the new series of classic Target novelisations?

Just read Ian Marter's The Ark In Space and it is absolutely terrific. It really pushes the horror element in a way they would not have got away with on tv back then. Highly recommended.

Info # 1:

It's been reported that one of the episode titles for the forthcoming series is to be 'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship', and it is to be based on a certain Samuel L. Jackson film with a similar title

Do NOT expect to hear the Doctor say the immortal line "I have had enough of these muntlefuntin' dinosaurs on this muntlefuntin' spaceship' tho!

Info # 2:

News has been released about features that have been passed by the BBFC concerning forthcoming DVD's:

'The Ambassadors of Death'
  • 00:01:27:01 (DOCTOR WHO - THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH) (TRAILER)
  • 00:13:05:07 TOMORROW'S TIMES - THE THIRD DOCTOR
  • 00:04:24:15 THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH - PHOTO GALLERY
  • 00:25:49:16 MARS PROBE 7: MAKING THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH

'Vengeance on Varos - Special Edition'
  • 00:01:07:01 (NEWS) (TELEVISION NEWS CLIP)
  • 00:15:07:11 (SATURDAY SUPERSTORE) (TELEVISION CLIP)
  • 00:05:41:15 BBC BREAKFAST TIME (TELEVISION CLIP)

'Inferno - Special Edition'

It has been confirmed that another story to get the special edition treatment will be Jon Pertwee's adventure Inferno; the episodes are to be 're-coloured' using the black and white film prints and the NTSC reverse standard conversions recordings to create a better quality image to the original 2006 release. The project will also include a 'secret project' alongside the range's commentary moderator and presenter Toby Hadoke. The DVD is expected to be released in 2013.

Actor John Levene also reported that he had recently recorded a documentary which, though unconfirmed, could feature on this DVD
