So I found this fanimation of Lost In The Dark Dimension on the YT.
Whilst the task of achieving such a feat without access to the source material is to be commended I suppose, some of it ... could have used some more finesse ahem. For a start, the Brigadier just hasn't the right voice (too high register). Shame. It's also littered with "easter eggs", which begin to grate after a while ahem. Regardless, I did enjoy it on a one time basis. I'm now going to dig out Shada for the contrast.
As you were ...

Paul McGann to get spinoff?

https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/...eback-31395291

Interesting, though caution should be displayed as it's not the woman reporter who usually gets thing right for the Mirror about animations and such. Don't know this guy's track record.

I'd watch this. McGann was great. I personally thought the reboot should have started with him.

As a spin-off series suggestion I would go for a non-Doctor anthology series based in the Dr. Who Universe along the lines of the one-off comic strips that appeared in Dr. Who Magazine. I remember them being EC Comics type tales with often very dark endings.

That would be of more interest than the regular series.

You can't have the Whoniverse () and only one show so something like this would be great for me, even if it was only for a couple of years before Disney got bored and canceled everything.
