More Alien links in the viral scene floating around, with Guy Pearce appearing as Peter Weyland of Weyland Corp.

PG 13 is sometimes a 15 in the UK also so there can be no bets on UK cert.
I hope he is shooting R as last I heard they shot it how Ridley wants but it ended up not being a R so nothing was sacrificed.

Caught this today and it's not bad. Not one to hold a torch to the Alien legacy, mind, but it doesn't do it a great disservice either. The cast is uniformly good; Fassbender makes a chilling android and Noomi Rapace is a fine actress, filling the Ripley-style void with a likeable vulnerability. Charlize Theron, again highly watchable, isn't given a whole lot of screen time as the ice queen of the ship.

Some stunning visuals make the experience and it's faithfully Gigeresque.

However, it's very slight on plot and - visuals aside - there's little that actually stands out. It's to be commended that it follows Alien's disquiet (although lacks the claustrophobia, tension and general horror of that masterpiece - not least the memorable characters) rather than being a gung-ho action flick; indeed barely a weapon is fired. But again I found it boiling down to more style than substance.

It's easy to get swept away with the cinematography, but I couldn't help but find it unsubstantial as a whole. Enjoyable, certainly (and it's refreshing to have Scott back directing thoughtful sci-fi) but I still felt ever-so-slightly underwhelmed by the experience.

I'm going to see it tonight. Looking forward to some Cabin in the Wood's style easter egg's insterted into what look's like the first original sci-fi film in a LOOOOONG time.
