I picked up the first series of Grey's Anatomy last spring from a charity shop for a pound and i've just begun watching it.

As Treb would say 'I'm surprised at how much i'm liking it as i didn't really expect to'.

Lead actress Ellen Pompeo is excellent and utterly gorgeous to boot but the other cast members including Patrick Dempsey, Isaiah Washington and the usually average Katherine Heigl are also very good. The script writing is excellent and each episode mixes drama with humour with ease.

Just discovered it's still airing as well. Season 13.

I might give it go and add it to the pile of TV shows, NCIS which I've recently got into is on its 14th season by now they must be running out of ideas! Also has a couple of spinoffs don't how good they are.

It started great but when the most of the main cast left it went down hill very fast.

Because i haven't seen ER i'm not saying it's like that show. Unlike Treb i won't say something i haven't seen is similar to something else i haven't seen.

It is better than Doctors and Casualty though.

Just what I get from reading online seems c!oser to ER than house in which it was basically a medical sherlock Holmes with the disease as the "crime" and house is Holmes while Greys is more traditional medical show.

Finished the 2nd and final volume of Francis Durbridge Presents, the last two of which (starring Martin Jarvis as the same policeman character) were from 1979. Really enjoyed these, the only one I wasn't keen on was The Doll from 1975 which I found a bit dull (though did have the unexpected delight of William Russell with a truly extraordinary greying 70s hairdo!) but enjoyed the rest a lot. Think I might buy them both at some point.
