Definitely!

As that comparison (and also countless forum posts in various cult movie forums) suggests, there's still no definitive version of it.

Do you think there's a lot more that could be done to it?

I don't know offhand - I suspect something rather more major expense-wise would be needed to get it spanky-nice.

Shameless Blu-ray 01?

That's pretty definitive.

Blu Ray is crazy money to do but it is being debated. I don't see it happening any time right away - one thing that bugs me - I don't want blue cases - they suck!

Warner Brothers do some of their classic Blu-rays in book form. Maybe that's an option, but would probably make the cost go up a fair bit.

I hate the cases though too. Tiny little artwork on them.

I can see Blu-ray cult films selling a lot more than DVDs at the moment though, since people are desperate for good cult films to be released on that format. I've bought all of Blue Underground's so far, even the ones for which I am not that keen on the film haha. I just got Circle Of Iron/The Silent Flute and it looks fantastic.

Is it the cost per Blu-ray unit that's the most prohibitive, or is it the high definition mastering that costs a bomb?

Everything costs more - they're way more complex to author for a start and you really pay for that. You want to be setting aside a good £10k to get one done and that's before any other costs. Now on a DVD you might get in £3 per unit - you'd hope to sell about 2-3000 over a couple of years - that's not a lot of money. So going Blu is a hell of a leap of faith but I don't doubt there's a healthy appetite for them.

Shit!

I knew people were moaning about high production costs of Blu-ray compared to HD-DVD when they were competing, but I hadn't realised it would be so much.

If you need a good Java programmer for your first disc, let me know!

Get yellow-ray cases. Any further with reversible covers for TORSO Almar?

I'd definitely like a reversible Killer Nun. That sleeve makes me want to shower whenever I see it.

Perhaps we'll repackage with a free show gel pouch...
