Just read a book on Kubrick, written by Michael Herr (Dispatches). Was a really nice portrait of the man from 79 onwards, as well as including the best review I've ever read, an in depth critique of Eyes Wide Shut. it's short, but well worth a read

Try your local W.H. Smith for Allan Bryce's popular publication.

Not a bad read the new TDS but i noticed a fair few errors here and there. I also think i probably prefer the old DVD reviews section to the revised variant too. No Choice Cuts column either but at least the John Saxon interview was good!

and finally the best book I've read on a film maker:THE SEX GORE NETHERWORLD OF FILMMAKER ANDY MILLIGAN by McDonough.

I've also got a far few A5 booklets on various films and actresses with Tim Greaves' 1 Shot Publications booklets on:
Lina Romay
Yutte Stengaard
Luan Peters
Madeline Smith
Linda Hayden
Veronica Carlson
Vampyres
Daughters of the Night:Carmilla on the Screen

being pretty special.
love this list and I'd like to see more love for Weldon's PSYCHOTRONIC FILM/VIDEO guides on this thread as the first one was the first book I ever found that could put a name to the sort of films i was becoming more interested in but I'd also add Danny Peary's CULT FILM movies books, esp his CULT FILM STARS guide which had a huge influence on me.
I'd also add the brilliant KEEPING THE BRITISH END UP , the best book on Brit Sex films which keeps getting better with each edition with more and more glossy illustrations and entries and Slater's EATEN ALIVE!, THAT'S SEXPLOITATION aka Grindhouse, MONDO MACABRO,
