Thought this one was great. Surprisingly harrowing and Christian Bale is on top form.

Hellraiser 1-3: My 3 personal favourites from one of my favourite franchises, and also the inspiration for the artwork I designed today for my homemade fuzz pedal.

Hollow Man 2 (2006)

I was quite surprised how much i enjoyed this fast paced sequel to Paul Verhoeven's 2000 hit.

Christian Slater takes over the title role from Kevin Bacon and its action all the way. Slater is in it from the first scenes (Well kind of in it, you don't see much of him really) and we are straight into the story. The Hollow Man's appearance is explained in a brief flashback around the middle of the film, so the film isn't cluttered with back story explanation. The effects are pretty good and the characters likable.

The main difference between this and the original is the genre of film. Verhoeven made a creepy Invisible Man horror film whereas this is more of an action film with added sci-fi elemants.

A film i'll definitely be revisiting sooner rather than later.

Odd tagline on that cover. Makes it sound like invisible man porn . . .

Todays watchings: Dragon Eyes, Revenge of the Ninja, Pain & Gain.

Dragon Eyes was pretty decent, JCVD not in it as much as I thought tho. Cung Le holds his own.

Revenge of the Ninja, hilarious in some places (unintentional) and pretty decent action in others. The like 5 year old kid doing ninja shit in his pink jumper is too funny. Worth a drunken Netflix watch.

Pain & Gain was awesome, first decent Michael Bay film since Bad Boys 2.

PUNK'S NOT DEAD. Documentary charting the history of punk. Firstly this skips over the whole art punk scene of '77 and gets down and dirty with the American hardcore scene and Dick Lucas from the UK's SUBHUMANS discussing punk rock ethics and ethos. It then follows a fairly well worn path telling the history from an American perspective. What I found most interesting is the relevance today a lot of UK bands from the early 80 UK scene have in America still. Whist the informed will gain nothing new from this film, it at least attempts to tell the punk story from the ground up and from within the still thriving scene.

Watched 'We're going to eat you' last night.

Pretty entertaining stuff, a crazy kung fu, comedy, cannibal mash up.
Agent 999 travels to an island to arrest a thief called Rolex but when he gets there finds the island inhabited by a village of cannibals.
Pretty funny in places, i really liked the moment when the hero managed to roll up a cigarette on some guys head while the man was attacking him (hey i'm easily pleased).
And the crazy giant female nymphomaniac was pretty bizarre too (i'm sure it was a bloke).
There's a fair amount of blood too.
All in all a good piece of entertainment. Recommended 7/10

Just watched Blow Out. This film never ceases to blow me away. A superlative thriller executed perfectly by DePalma. Just incredible.
