Finished the FNM tome. Whilst it gets a bit "chummy" at the end, tis still a high recommend this end.

Next up .... Shock And Awe... Reynolds tackles Glam Rock.
Should be interesting ....

Default Shock - ing Simon ....

I'm only 5 pages into the introduction and he's off already .... "...the result was a merger of primitivism and production that thrillingly combined the subhuman and superhuman ..."

I’ve picked up Lords of Chaos to read (again) ahead of the hotly anticipated movie. Not up to any of the juicy details yet, we’re still just talking about where the scene came from and how Euronymous played them all like some evil puppetmaster.

I think i'll re-read it as soon as i've finished Kerswell's very simplistic Teenage Slasher book.

Default T Rex Vs TG

S&A starts with Bolan. Of course.

This will be a tonic at the moment.
He can write about something you've heard a million times ...and make you want to listen to it again.

It's been a very long time since I've read it, I think it'll be a better read now that I've got a wider world view than when it first came out.

As for the Teenage Slasher Book, I read a bit of it but it's now been resigned to one which I look at for the pictures rather than the text. I don't really like his style and I tried to listen to the podcast he does 'The Hysteria Continues...' and I turned it off after 20 minutes because all of them were very annoying!

It's very, i don't know, i'd almost say amateurish, in comparison to someone like Jonathan Rigby's Gothic tomes.

I’m at the part where Varg tells the police that he’ll come in and lay his cards on the table and literally lays a deck of cards on the table

Obviously the subject matter is no joke, we are talking about murder and arson, but that bit made me laugh last time I read it and again earlier today

I think everyone looks amateur compared to Rigby, and probably Thrower in particular his expertise. There are better slasher books out there though I'm sure!

I just read the bit where Varg complains that the prison system is too soft because you get a bed and a bathroom and how he begged the guards to put him in a real dungeon and to use violence if needed
