Picked up Stephen King's epic Under the Dome yesterday from the library, been wanting to read it for awhile now, but haven't got round to it. Very reminiscent of my favourite novel of his, The Stand. It's been made into a 13 part TV drama, due to air in the US in June, hopefully getting shown in the UK too

I read Christie Mallory's own double entry yesterday. Very short and very funny.

Today I read through Bryant and May: The Soho Devil, a graphic novel featuring Chris Fowlers two geriatric detectives. The artwork is incredible, but the script was disappointing.

Finally, I have also been reading the short story collection From Hell to Eternity - some excellent and disturbing work.

From a new course, I'm reading Learning How to Counsel by Jan Sutton and William Stewart, Learning and Being in Person-Centred Counselling by Tony Merry and, to be on the safe side, Counselling Skills for Dummies by Gail Evans.

Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's LXG spin-off Nemo: Heart of Ice has just landed on the doormat. I can't wait to get stuck in but I have just finished Dial H#10, from DC's New 52, by China Mieville and Alberto Ponticelli. This series is as good as it gets, honest!

Finished! Cracking read and great art and, as usual, a treasure trove of literary and social "inclusions." Find out for yourself what else appears other than Lovecraft and H Rider Haggard. My only gripe is that it is a little slim and no sooner had I started than I finished, ah well!

I rate it on the top side of 7/10

Currently working my way through the rather brilliant The complete symphonies of Adolf Hitler and other strange stories by Regie Olivier which was recently reissued in a paperback edition. Recommended.

I've recently decided it was time to dip my toes into Hellblazer. So far onto issue 2 and its pretty good, its no Sandman or Swamp Thing yet, but from what I gather its only going to get better

Finished Under the Dome last night, another excellent book from King, with a fine cast of characters, plenty of tension and suspense, very similar in tone to The Stand, although not as weighty and only let down by a somewhat rushed climax
