Presumably this means that the BBFC panel have to watch the entire thing to make sure it is acceptable

The film is entitled 'Paint Drying' and it would appear to be an accurate description of what is being seen!

Sadly, the film-makers had to cut the completed film down from the full runtime of 13 hours, 27 minutes to just over ten hours, but this was NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BBFC's decision, but rather the film-makers had forgot to factor the VAT charged into their budget!

It had now been delivered to the panel, and two examiners are scheduled to watch the first 9 hours of the film on Monday 25th January, and the remaining 67 minutes the following morning.

James Ferman would have cut it.
Remove shot of paint drying -5 seconds.
Rated '18'.

Think of it as art

Similar to the Andy Warhol film 'Empire', which is an 8 hour film of continuous footage of The Empire State Building, showing the lights being turned on and off!

"Abridged showings of the film were never allowed, and supposedly the unwatchability of the film was an important part of the reason the film was created"

Don't you just wish that the film-makers had slipped in the odd single frame subliminal image here and there!

That would have been a real test of how much attention the examiners pay to what they watch.

Yes but i disagree. I'm a fly. I might stick to the wall and be unable to escape and therefore die.

I find this very offensive and intend to complain. A VERY LONG FILM ABOUT A SLOW DEATH IS NOT SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE.

Yours sincerely

J. Goldblum.

Well, that's completely spoiled it for me. I won't bother watching it now.
