I was just doing the dishes and came up with a concept of why we have censorship. I don't know if I can articulate it well but I'm going to try, I call it the Washed Dishes Theory.
You see, when we talk about the elite we are not talking about the Prime Minister or Presidents, or people we generally consider to be in power and control. No, sir. We are talking about the very elite few that control and put them in place. It makes a mockery of voting, really, as although we may vote Conservative or Labour, or Democrat and Republican, or Screaming Lord Such, it makes not one iota of difference to the people who finance and push their new chosen candidate through. The elite agenda is still unchanged no matter who we perceive is in power. This elite can be traced to a small gathering of families that exert immense and overwhelming control over almost every aspect of our lives. These are the JP Morgans, the Rockefellas, the Rothchilds, the Bush's, and the banking families. You can say there are 13 major families running the world. They are all inter-married and related and between them own ALL of the news corporations, TV and media outlets. This is why you never hear very much about them unless it is in a positive light. They all have the exact same agenda. To maximise profit at all cost to society or the environment. Companies, like WallMart have more political power on the planet than many whole countries.
Their main agenda is to keep you in debt. The more you are in debt the more you are a slave and will meekly go off every morning to do a job you hate for 8 - 12 hours because you have bills to pay, a mortgage, Xmas is coming and there is a shitload of stuff out there that you don't need but really feel a compulsion to buy. Hell, if you can't afford what you want, put it on finance and the bank will lend you money it doesn't have and then charge you more money that doesn't exist for the privilege of being in debt. It's called Fractional Banking, worth a bit of your time to look up how this evil, corrupt system works, btw!
War is the most profitable for these guys though. You will find their names backing and supplying both sides in every war since World War 1. Win-win. War is tricky though, to get a nation in the mood things need to be done exactly in the right order and who cares if a few million die......not them. The Luistania, Pearl Harbour, The Gulf Of Tonkin, all proved beyond doubt False Flags. 9/11....anyone??
So they control the way we have to live because we live in a monetary world. But some of us plebs might get a bit of this money if we're clever or lucky so they control what you spend your money on too. That's why we get these huge ass Walmarts and Tesco's popping up and killing any local business dead in the water.
They want you calm and docile, not inquisitive and free minded. The school curriculum in the Western world, actually the whole world, is not designed to educate you, but to dumb you down, accept the recognized version of events, don't think or question for yourself. If you repeat what you are told like a parrot they will then tell you that you are very clever, a good boy, you're educated! If you have a different version of events from another perspective, then you FAIL! you are stupid. We will now place names upon you and deem you not worthy for anything more than tossing burgers.
They put fluoride in our water. Why? Hands up who just thought, "It's good for your teeth!" Shame on you!! This is really worth a few minutes of your time to look up and read about if you have never done so.
But the best way to get control over a nation is by the nation calling for more Draconian measures on themselves. Fear mongering and stories in the media help perpetuate whatever the latest Boogyman is and then people with a sprinkling of notoriety take up whatever nonsense is being sprouted and run with it to ridiculous lengths for their own agenda, people like Bright and Whitehouse. These people are then given exposure by the media to the under educated masses, the people who have been taught their whole lives to accept the official version of events and to repeat it parrot fashion without questioning.
And the masses lap that shit up.
The amount of censorship depends on where you live and the sensibilities and cultural background of the nation. I complain bitterly about our censorship body (No! Really? ) but there are not many better on the planet. America has terrible problems, yes they can release without the MPPA's approval but that usually equates to a quick profitless death. My complaint with the BBFC is that they cut bits out on the opinion of a very closed group of individuals utilizing their own morals and standards and then enforcing it onto the masses. The insinuation being that the Great British public are too dim witted and dumb to be able to grasp the context between fantasy and reality or unable to find the eject button if needed.
Censorship is a twin edged sword. I hate it but I wouldn't want censorship to be gone completely. I would want it there for what "I" consider unacceptable, but who am I to say what you can watch....? No one.

I don't think you could ever have no censorship in any society.
Child pornography is totally unacceptable.
But i don't believe in any censorship whatsoever for adults that shows simulated scenes in films.
I find it ridiculous in this country that you still cannot see Death Wish 2 fully uncut etc.
Is there anywhere else in europe that still cuts films like this?
And even adult pornography, the only cuts should be to non-consentual scenes, unless people are really seriously being hurt.

I'm not sure of the specifics, but Germany is are more strict than the UK, with the BBFC being quite lenient and liberal by some standards.

Great post Boo but where are the 9 foot tall reptilians in all this? Joking aside, I do think that sex is used as a controlling mechanism of the masses but it can also be a form of personal liberation when taken in an occult/mystical, even religious context.
