Popped this in earlier...

It's possibly the worst blu ray I have ever seen! The transfer is awful and clearly not remastered in anyway. We know from Texas Chainsaw Massacre that film shot on 16mm, with the proper care, can look amazing but this is a poor job indeed.

All the Midnight Madness releases look bad.
Hellraiser AB US vs Hellraiser Midnight Madness is a light and day difference. The AB disc is so much better plus has extras.
Thankfully AB released the same disc in the UK :)

I have the ABUK DVD and it easily looks better than this abomination! This film deserves to be restored properly in high definition, Arrow... sort it.

The tag line should read: HARROWING AND NASTY... AND THAT'S JUST THE TRANSFER!!

I hated that film, but each to their own!

That's very unfortunate as I have a copy on its way to me. Is it any better than the DVD?

In my opinion no, it's worse. I'm not an expert in blu rays, transfers and all that by any means but I do love this film and, to me, it looks poor.

Haha, yeah each to their own! :p It blew me away when I first saw it. I think its Anthony Minghella's masterpiece and rightfully won its Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe. The story, cinematography, cast, everything is near perfect. Its the most epic and emotive drama I can think of since David Lean's swansong A PASSAGE TO INDIA 12 years earlier.

A three disc set.

A bit of fun to watch over Christmas.

Mrs MTDS is forcing me to go to a club that has burlesque dancers tomorrow night. Life is tough sometimes.;)
