I was joking, as I can remember you saying something along the lines of every time Raro release a DVD and you buy it, it gets released on BD a few months later. ;)

The Perfume of the Lady in Black should be gracing hi-def in the near future though; can't wait!

Lyrical 20th May 2012 04:25 PM

Recently bought the Herzog Kinski collection because I haven't seen any of them, despite loving all the Herzog I've seen. :o

Picked it up for £9 on ebay. Not bad!

I don't think it's coming out until next year though, mate.

Plenty of time to sell it on!

Don't you just love it when people post a bargain but fail to let the rest of us know about it? ;) :p (please take with a pinch of salt)

Haha!

My guess is an opportune blockbuster trade-in moment, Ã* la Pedromonkey

Hawkmonger 20th May 2012 06:50 PM

Speaking of Raro Video, does anyone know where I can get a good copy of this and wether the film's named are any good? Having recently watched Almost Human i'm rather into Italian crime cinema.

It's a great set, I'm actually working my way through the films again myself - I have The Boss lined up for later on.

If you enjoyed Almost Human, you will enjoy these. Milano Calibro 9 is my favourite of the films in the set, but they're all good.

I bought my set from Axel on release for around £20.

BD's £23.32 on Planet Axel which is pretty darn good. And I think the films are great (Italian Connection and Milano Calibro 9 especially)

Hawkmonger 20th May 2012 06:57 PM

It's on Planet Axel? I must have over looked it. It didn't turn up when I searched. I'll try again. £23.32? Nice.

PaulD 20th May 2012 07:13 PM

Not that there was any doubt but just to reiterate; it's a great set and well worth the price!

Criterion7 20th May 2012 09:21 PM

Hit the local flea market and picked up

Dog Day Afternoon: 2 Disc SE
Star Hunter:Complete Series
Nightmare on Elm Street blu ray ( original film not horrid remake)

Not even sure what Star Hunter is just that it's a show that starred Michael Pare.

indeed. this was a delivery from another store that couldn't shift their blues, they sent a box our way, that bad boy was on the top so I snagged it immediately. £4 with discount mind but still worth every penny. Affleck is yet to direct a bad movie imo, never would have thought he'd turn out such a great film maker, when actors step behind the camera it can sometimes be a mistake.

Personally though charles laughton is my favourite actor turned director by far.

artisturn 21st May 2012 03:12 AM

Another Code Red dvd from Hastings, they only had one in stock so like the good little dvd addict that I am, I snatched this bad boy up.

Vampire at Midnight - Maria's "B" Movie Mayhem (1988) $14.99

Although he only did it once – on The Night of the Hunter – it's one of the best directorial debuts and, if there was such a list, the finest 'last film as director' ever.

Was looking at the middle one for a while, but couldn't find any good stuff to order with it. Well I saw it again a while ago... someone on this forum had bought so I went to take a look again and ordered these for about 20 euros on amazon.de.

As a personal promise to myself, I solemly swore never to get a credit card.
Several reason's;
1) I intend to work as a marine Biologist and researcher (providing all 16 million exam's I have to go through turn out OK) and I very much doubt New Zealend rate's will pay that highly for said proffesion.
2) I fined the concept..........iffy. Why spend money you don't have, a person like me would never be able to pay that back.

Did the traditional visit to the charity shops this morning, and got a copy of 'Paranormal Activity 2' for £1.99

HOWEVER...

when I got home, I discovered that not only did the case contain 'PA2', it also contained a copy of the film 'Secretary' as well

Am angry. I already have a copy of 'Secretary'. Why didn't it also contain 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1'?

Bloody charity shops! (No - I don't mean that. They do a wonderful job}
