The Artist didn't feature Uggy as much as i thought it would although the pooch was very memorable in a brilliant film which wasn't really about a dog. Those were just my criteria though. |

I highly recommend Jean-Jacques Annaud's The Bear (1988) It's like a segment of Planet Earth made into a feature length film. Superb.

With the added bonus of a lesser-spotted Johanson!

As for The Artist, it probably isn't a film about an animal, but Uggie is such a delightful pooch in it, that I really wanted to include on my list. Feel free to mentally swap it for either Grizzly Man or Laughing Gravy.

I didn't like Grizzly Man as it didn't feature bears enough. I guess the clue is in the title though. |

Rogue. Greg McLean. 2007 Alligator. Lewis Teague. 1980 The Birds. Alfred Hitchcock. 1963. K-9. Rod Daniel. 1989. Turner and Hooch. Roger Spottiswoode.1989 Snakes On a Plane. David R. Ellis. 2006. Squirm. Jeff Lieberman. 1976. Into The Grizzly Maze. David Hackl. 2015 Cat People. Jacques Tourneur. 1942 Phenomena. Dario Argento. 1985. The Jungle Book (live action, I hate the animated version). John Favreau. 2016. Arachnophobia. Frank Marshall. 1990. I considered Dances with Wolves, Monkey Shines and a few others but it's been so long it doesn't seem fair to include them. Ghost and the Darkness in particular I remember really liking but I've not seen it in 20 years or more. I'll have to get a copy. |

I liked your 'breed apart" post but hating the animated Jungle book is unforgivable.
