Yeah, it is a section 2 film (#18 in alphabetical order, as on the Wikipedia page). I don't think it was something that struck me as a 'video nasty' the first time I watched it, but it was something to which the DPP objected.

Think it was due to the nun exploitation like the other 70s movies The Devils and Behind Convent Walls, everyone seems to think people were born to be nuns and priests and were born without sexual inuendos and thoughts that people seem to find offensive or insult.

Possession
Don't Go In The House
Don't Look In The Basement
Cannibal Holocaust
ZFE
LDATMM
The Child
Suspiria
The Slayer
The Evil Dead.

These would be my favourites from all sections.

I'm pretty sure I saw it after I had seen Ken Russell's The Devils, which I knew was released (cut) with an X certificate, and hadn't been banned or threatened with a ban. Since Killer Nun was less intense, with lots less in the way of violence and nudity, it's place amongst the Video nasties never crossed my mind.

Think it was due to the 'blow job' looking VHS artwork.

I always think nuns etc must have forbidden thoughts, which always make me think they must be right up for it if unleashed. ( not very P.C that but nevermind.)

Also a lot of nuns were normal girls sent to convents.

It's the quiet ones you have to look out for.
And all about the dirty habits.

I used to have a girlfriend whose mum used to be a nun.
Ah... the good old days.

Seems a lot of these nunsploitation films came from Italy so i guess it's to do with the large presence of nuns in this area. (ahem Vatican)

Top ten films from the section 3 list.

Alice Sweet Alice
Dawn Of The Dead
Suspiria
The Thing
Martin
Night Of The Living Dead
Hills Have Eyes
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Deep Red
Phantasm

Some of my favourite horror films ever feature so if ended up doing a top ten of all sections combined it would end up being section 3 heavy i feel.

This would be 10 - 20 of the section 3 for me.

Blue Eyes Of The Broken Doll
Mad Foxes
Nightmare City
Rosemarys Killer
Werewolf Woman
Xtro
Shogun Assassin
Scanners
Zombie Holocaust
Blood Lust (Mosquito)

These are generally far more exploitative titles (bar Scanners) than the previous ten films.
Not all are good films but they are all memorable in their own ways.
