I don't quite get the love for Children of the Damned.

Now if you'd said Village of the Damned then that would be different.

I don't think it is a particularly great film either, though whether that's because it doesn't really impress in its own right or because it suffers by comparison to the superior Village of the Damned, or perhaps a bit of both, is something I'm not sure about because I haven't seen them in quite a few years.

Scorsese films.

I'm not a fan, i've seen a few of his films but never been that impressed and am not into gangster stuff so i'm just gonna say this-

Taxi Driver

(The only film i really rate, absolutely brilliant.)

MARTIN SCORSESE

As I've seen all his (non-documentary) films more than once and own most of them, I thought it best to rank them rather than list my favourite 10.

  1. Raging Bull
  2. Taxi Driver
  3. Goodfellas
  4. Casino
  5. Shutter Island
  6. After Hours
  7. The Gangs of New York

  9. The Wolf of Wall Street
  10. Hugo

  16. Cape Fear
  17. Silence
  18. The Color of Money
  19. The Last Temptation of Christ
  20. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
  21. Bringing out the Dead
  22. Kundun
  23. Who's That Knocking at My Door
  24. Boxcar Bertha

Of his documentary films, I love The Last Waltz, Shine a Light and No Direction Home, all superb films about music.

My thanks to all who contributed a list of your favourite Martin Scorsese films and/or favourite horror films from 1964. Sticking with the format of a prolific mainstream film figure and horror films from a certain year, this week has an actor with an extensive filmography showing he is not just someone who appears in mobile phone commercials, but someone who's demonstrated a real range and screen presence over four decades.

Secondly, in my opinion, there is a great year for horror films due to the sheer number of very watchable slasher films, a trio of fine werewolf movies, two of Lucio Fulci's best, and a low budget film from a little-known director called Sam Raimi.

KEVIN BACON FILMS

HORROR FILMS FROM 1981
