A childhood favourite, a uplifting festive tale perfect for putting a smile on your face in this awful year.

The movie starts with the origin of Santa, move forward to the 20th century and follows Patch the Elf ( Dudley Moore) who leaves the North Pole after screwing up Christmas , he sets out on his own and ends up teaming up with Toy manufacturer B.Z( John Lithgow )little does Patch release just how slimy and greedy B.Z is . It's up too Santa and his two young friends to help save Christmas and Patch.

Never noticed before but the first time patch appears in New York you can see the A-Team van behind him. While I was watching i was wondering are Santa and Superman neighbours as they both live in the North Pole. The film was a huge flop at the time , costing 50,000,000 it only made about , 25,000,000.
With inflation 50 million is about 125 million! 9/10

The Christmas Chronicles: Part 2. 2020.

Kate and Teddy are on holiday with their mum and new partner Bob and his son Jack. When a trouble making elf wants Christmas cancelled, Kate and Jack are transported back to the North Pole and help Santa to save Christmas.

I was looking forward to watching it and after viewing was a bit let down, Kurt Russell returns as Santa with Goldie Hawn having more screen time, and Darby Camp returning as Kate. This didn't seem to have much laughs as the previous film and seems a bit more drama than comedy and some what over done with CGI effects, Kurt Russell is defeinatly the new Santa Claus though.

Didn't it have Jingle Bell Rock played during the opening credits?

Question Don't Open till Christmas

Don't Open till Christmas....
Nothing says Xmas like a low budget British Xmas slasher..
Terrible but somehow comforting.I mean I watched the blu ray back in the summer, which is probably when they filmed it,....

Doctor Who: The Next Doctor (2008)

The majority don't seem to like this Christmas special but i love it. It's everything i could ask for. It's Christmassy, very Dickensian, beautifully written with excellent trade offs between David Tennant's Doctor and David Morrissey's 'next Doctor'.

All this before we get to the heart of the story which is a wonderful throwback to monster and sci-fi movies from the fifties as the Cybermen and the gorgeous Dervla Kirwan, dressed head to toe in scarlet like the wealthiest whorehouse madam, create a dreadnought class Cyber King which rampages across old London town in true Godzilla fashion with a steam punk twist.

As a footnote, this episode also contains one of my very favourite sequences in all of Doctor Who as Cybermen murder funeral goers in a snowy graveyard. Terrific stuff.
