I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but it looks like John Carpenter's Dark Star is coming to UK Blu in February.

Fantastic, the version I have on dvd is pretty shoddy. I was thinking of upgrading to the more recent dvd, but think I'll hold out fo blu now.

That's another film I really need to give a second look as I saw it years ago and probably wasn't in the right frame of mind for a low-budget sci-fi movie with the result that it left me distinctly underwhelmed. Since then, I have read numerous reviews and seen many lists which extol its virtues so I really need to see it again and see if I can appreciate it as much as everyone else seems to.

Not too sure, but you can keep a lookout on this site;
http://www.hdanddvdbargains.com/fetc...-[Blu-ray]

Maybe there's a chance the price on Amazon will decrease?

I think I'll wait for reviews on Dark Star seeing as it's been treated so badly over the years. Reviews of the new VCI dvd seem to be better though and I'm assuming they'll use the same source.

I had no idea Argos sold Blus and DVDs!! Sure they sold films years ago but always at high prices and mainstream nonsense, I'm surprised to say the least.

Argos is one of the many members of the chain that comes under the banner of 'The Hut' along with the likes of Sendit, Zavvi and Asda online. It is strange how much the prices differ between those different websites.

It is the same company, i.e. The Hut owns them?

Yes. Chances are if you have an order with one of the subsidiary companies and the item is out of stock, it'll be out of stock at all of the other retailers.

Apart from The Hut, there is only really Amazon, Play.com and HMV so it's now a case of so much for the Internet having a massive selection of different stores.

Edit: for more information have a look at this page in Wikipedia.

I have never really used Hut or any of its groups.
Prices for HMV and Amazon have been same or better so I stuck with those.
