I hope this means, we will finally get more HK classics in native HD transfers

4K?! Can't say I ever expected Story of Ricky to receive that treatment - and it's a tad annoying considering Jackie Chan's classic films are released as upscales. I like Story of Ricky by the way, but still an odd choice for a 4K remaster

Well, don't worry, because many more HK classics have already been announced & scanned in 4k.

EselWesen did a first list at cinefacts: [SONSTIGE WELT] - HK-Klassiker endlich in ECHTEM HD! (Surely there is also an English thread for example at blu-ray.com.) |

Mediumrare Entertainment is delighted to announce the acquisation of some of Hong Kong's finest martial arts films to be released through 2015. Plans are still to be ironed out but most of the titles will be restored in high definition from original 35mm masters and will be available in Bluray and limited edition steelbook, these movies will never have looked so good! Some highlights from the newly acquired titles are, Fist of Fury, Game of Death, The Way of the Dragon, The Big Boss, When Taekwondo Strikes, Armour of God, and the infamous Riki-Oh- The Story of Ricky More news to follow. At least one Jackie Chan title there... hopefully we'll get more. Wish they'd release John Woo stuff, Bruce Lee is already all over the place! |
