I think DS9 was tainted for me because I was watching Babylon 5 around the same time and that show did the whole plot arc over several seasons based on space station thing better, the writing acting and plots were better and it held my interest. I always preferred star trek as a show about exploration as well.

I used to watch B5 as well and loved the arc! The season three opening credits with the music was just great. But in hindsight the CGI hasn't age well its all so...clean! The battle between the Earth ships and B5 and its allies in that season, for me, was just stunning I had the sound turned up and the whole house would shake!

Are you referring to the space craft?

I would think as the ones from B5 were housed on a space station then they would be constantly repaired and yes, cleaned by technicians.

Thats my excuse anyway.

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get past the half way mark.
As we all know Peter Cushing is a marvellous actor, but not even his
great presence could save it for me. Maybe I just should have hit the
sack after The Omen Remake finished, but I really felt up for this.
The creature or the 'Monster from Hell' just looked terrible IMO.
Maybe just maybe I'll come back to it another time

Come on, admit it, it was Peter Cushing's wig that put you off wasn't it?
