Watched Zombie Flesh Eaters 2(thanks BS) last night It was fairly ridiculous but have to say I really enjoyed it. Over the top acting, some decent gore and a flying zombie head |

Not done or watched much. Too busy being Chritmassy. But I have checked out; "Scrooge" - Alistair Sim is still the best Scrooge, in what is still the best version of "A Christmas Carol". Crappy colourised version or not. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" - Still one of the best Christmas films ever. Bags of fun with everyone in top form, especially Chevy Chase. This is the uncut version too which has the classic "We're gonna have the happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fvcking Kaye" line. "It's a Wonderful Life" - Finally got the good lady Wife to watch this. And thankfully she liked it. A wonderful, though at times tough, Christmas film that has more weight and sheer raw emtion than most any other. Stewart of course is a marvel. "Merry Madagascar" - Hmmm....Shorter than an elf's pubic hair. But not bad, with King Julian in top form. Far too slight though, even my Daughter looked confused when it ended after just 20 minutes. |

I love the Alastair Sim Scrooge though I also thoroughly enjoyed the George C. Scott version too. Hard to say which one I prefer at times. Both excellent movies. It's A Wonderful Life is one of my all time favourite films. |

Watched Deathdream last night - easily one of my favourite horror films ever. Such a powerful film and it may be Bob Clark's best (although its a bloody tough one that)

Murder By Decree is still my favourite Clark film with Black Christmas a very close second.

"13: Game Of Death" - Thai thriller about a man who is so desperate to get his life back on track after he appears to have lost evrything that he allows himself to be pulled into an unusual game that tests his morality, ethics and personal accountability. A set of tasks, each more disgusting or dangerous than the last are set for him which ultimately become life threatening. He only gets paid if he completes all the tasks, so greed soon takes over. Some good ideas are evident but they don't work out perfectly and poor acting certainly doesn't help matters, but this does keep you watching all the same. The Weinstein company has picked up remake rights for the English language version. So beware!

"Wind Chill" - Well crafted, spooky, slow burning, old fashioned ghost/legend story about a cursed road. Nice playing by all, some great atmosphere, the odd good shock and wonderful, wintery, cinematography. No great shakes, nothing really original, bit well done, enjoyable, mostly effective and best of all, despite the slight time/reality bending aspects of the screenplay, no nonsensical story/stupid final twist rubbish to spoil the ending. |
