The Black Room.

Trashy throwback to the days of sexed up horror flicks featuring people having sex with rubber walls whilst covered in goo. Better than The Void and other recent 80s wannabes.

Possibly haha, it was the only time this year I was squirming in the cinema waiting to leave but hoping it would get better. Having said that though X-Men Apocalypse was only slightly better...

I can't even remember that one.

I watched Doctor Strange the other night and can't remember enough about that to come up with a review of any sort.

I watched X-Men: Apocalypse at the beginning of this week and enjoyed it more than on first viewing. It's definitely the weakest of the prequel trilogy, something tacitly acknowledged by the exchange outside the cinema where they've just seen Return of the Jedi with someone remarking that the third instalment is always the worst!

That said, I would like all the X-Men movies on UHD because I feel it benefit enormously from the 4K picture and 360° sound, something which also applies to Doctor Strange, a film which (at the moment, anyway) curiously only has a standard Blu-ray release. I don't think it's solely to do with Marvel because I have both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming on the new 4K format.

Badlands (1973, Terrence Malick)

Two lovers take a road trip. A very still film. Almost like portraiture in places. Something he is still perfecting ....

Am going out with a bang this year as The Debt Collector is next then maybe 'firstfooting' with a chance to see this new Black Mirror
