Murderrock

Fulci does his version of phantom of paradise. A giallo rock opera. Lacks the panache of the DePalma film or the tunes of something like Tommy. Still worth a look if you like Fulci films. Not one of his best. Not as dull as Manhattan baby or as flawed as his later stuff like door into silence. Scorpions blu ray looks great

Anthropophagus.

Picked up the Severin release of this assuming it would blow 88s out of the water. Spoiler alert... it doesn't. Certainly not their second go at the film. The contrast is too high and loses the subtitles near the beginning. Save your cash.

The Dead Pool 1988.

A bunch of celebrities have their name on a Dead pool list and slowly start dying amongst the names is Harry Callahan who has attracted a lot of attention in the media and is teamed up with a new partner.

This was the last entry to the Dirty Harry movies and a good way to end it, Harry teamed with Evan Kim (Al. Quan) to adapt a Asian/American team which can seem as a bit of "Ohhhh Racist much" which was done well with the acting of the superiors.

Liam Neeson plays Peter Swan Movie/music director who seems to want to add homage to his movies with a young Jim Carrey lip sync to Guns N Roses song while ripping off The Exorcist. Patricia Clarkson plays the journalist and love interest to Harry, Samantha Walker and helped Callahan into the limelight and unwanted attention. 9out of 10.

Absurd

This one is an improvement over the 88 release. The green tint is gone and the colours look better. Unlike Anthro this one is worth the upgrade.

From the 'new to me' horror films i watched during my annual Decemberdike marathon my favourites were -

The Girl With All the Gifts
Twisted Nerve
The Town that Dreaded Sundown (1976)
Sweet Sixteen
I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance is Mine

One or two films such as The Psychopath and Peeping Tom, both from the sixties, i'm sure will grow in stature over the years and become firm favourites.

And the worst -

Alien Covenant
A Virgin Among the Living Dead
Slaughterhouse Rock
Ghost Stories (2018)
Mark of the Vampire (1935)

To quote gag. I thought it was 'dull and boring'.

Well of course gag didn't like it. It wasn't made in 1987.

I wasn't quoting gag from that film per-se. He often describes things he doesn't rate as 'dull and boring', and i thought that term definitely summed up Ghost Stories.
