It is indeed the American remake, it's been directed by Matt Reeves who directed Cloverfield. I have high hopes for this one.

I am totally against Let Me In.
its so unnecessary and I highly doubt it will be any good.

Totally unnecessary but with a great director and great cast I think it's gonna work. Well I hope so anyway, we'll soon see

I was completely against the idea of a remake when I heard about this project but it may not be a remake but an English-language adaptation of the book which had a great deal cut out of it to make Let the Right One In which was the greatest movie of last year.

I intend to see Let Me In with an open mind, hoping for the best.

Barbed Wire Dolls - another Jess Franco film but not one of his better ones I think. Most of it bored the hell out of me - the vast majority of it was just tedious. Something like his Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun was far better, or Sadomania. Not one of Franco's better entries in the WIP genre.

Savage Streets - I really loved this. Perhaps one of my favourite films. The Scars encompass most things I like in a sleazeball gang and they ham it right up! Robert Dryer is so badass! Linda Blair is such a bitch too! Some very memorable lines ("go **** an iceberg!") and a great soundtrack make for a memorable film. More in this rape-revenge mould, please!

I admire your optimism mate. I generally don't embrace film remakes, but I'm getting curious about this one. This one set in America is it? It was a nice fresh approach to the vampire film was LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. Gentle in places, and savage in others, and a good piece of drama too. A film of this quality was alway's going to be at risk of being remade or mimicked. I still haven't listened to the commentary for this film yet either, so I might give that a go shortly. When's the new version due out anyway? Cheers.

If I remember correctly, Let Me In is set in Canada as that allows you to keep the drab, snowy landscape.
