Almost forgot, RED DAWN. Utterly fantastic, flag waving, gun ho madness from the 80s. However it's not as right wing as people make out and is in fact more about resistance fighters and revolutionaries of any political colour. Check out the speeches made by the Cuban Army officer. Politics aside, it's a great fantasy war film in it's own right with the cast looking like they are having the time of their lives shooting guns and blowing shit up.

Went back and finished Black Mama, White Mama. Was alright, though not a patch on the Jack Hill-Pam Grier-Sid Haig films . . .

I saw Gremlins at the cinema this evening. It's a great watch and, like pretty much every film, is a completely different experience when you watch it on the big screen. Sadly, the projector wasn't calibrated properly so the very top and bottom of the picture was missing slightly.
