Right now I'm watching The Blob remake
excellent flick. This needs an upgrade to Bluray pronto.
Come on Arrow or 88 films.
Anyone.

So buy it day of release or forget it basically!

ARGO.

Best film of the year, probably not but its still a great movie. Ben affleck seems to have decided that if he wants to star in good movies he's just going to make them himself and after a long string of terrible movies who can blame him. I really rate him as a filmmaker, again I wouldent put anything he's made in film of the year category but I could say the same about a whole bunch of oscar winners. Loved the fact the film uses the 70's warner logo and LOOKS like a 70's film without the effect becoming intrusive on the film as a whole. It built up the suspense well and the acting was uniformly great.

I caught up with Killer Joe - (now that's a better handle!) and found it absolutely mesmerising. McConaghey's performance is stunning, the definition of revelatory. Hayden Church makes a great doofus. The neon smeared trailer trash environment is captured perfectly. Can't believe Friedkin got away with this but I'm sure glad he did.

My favorite film of the year. The whole atmosphere effectively oozes filth. I also love the part with Killer Joe making fun of the state of Oklahoma. Being from Texas I can confirm that being a legitimate thing we do.

Watched my copy of Christine TT blu last night and the transfer is awesome!
Detailed but still has film grain! Props to Sony for a good transfer.

Classic movie that still holds up today!

Interesting to know after watching the behind the scenes feature that they changed things from the book by making it all about Christine instead of about her previous dead owners corpse talking to Arnie and telling him to do stuff. Sounds like the book was far more supernatural then the actual movie. I might read it at some point.

Blue Sunshine

Muddled but fun 70's paranoia fare. The main theme is a anti-drugs one, but there's also a "Disco sucks" finale.

Nightmare City

I've always been impressed with Lenzi's epic cheese-fest. But last night I noticed just how insane the body count really is!? Can't think of anything that comes close, Dawn of the Dead makes you numb to the violence over it's running time, but you can't even begin to take in all the carnage going on in Nightmare City!
