The Transporter 2 (Louis Leterrier, 2005) Whilst not a patch on the first (too yankified for my taste hem hem), it perks up during Cory Yuen's sequences. Can't wait to see the 3rd, which I see is in my local library haha.

No doubt it is a great film - maybe it's my age, but as I totter past my mid 40s, I find this kind of grainy, grim 70/early 80s American 'realist' horror (see also Deathdream, Combat Shock, Deranged, Maniac etc) increasingly hard to sit through. It's like I'm experiencing backwards evolution (devolution?) and now find the out and out schlockers like Squirm, Basket Case (OK, half and half that one!) and The Omen more palatable for an evenings entertainment. Still loving the old classics though - Dawn of the Dead, Exorcist, Suspiria et al, so maybe there's hope for me yet...

Havn't really sat down and watched an actual DVD in a quite a while!! But, I watched Green Butchers last night, and Deadgirl the night before. I thought both were pretty good - Green Butchers was a lot funnier than I was expecting! |
