Stendhal Syndrome however is pretty good.
No, just saying you have to make your own mind up not be swayed by others. We aren't sheep.

We all seem to loathe one Argento film post Opera. I don't mind The Card Player, its merely an ok film, but hate Trauma.

Fair do's. Still haven't seen Trauma, but what I have seen is Savini's awful Brad Dourif severed head model, something which I believe he is embarrassed about

But Argento's ok films are better than many good ones.

No excuse for not seeing Stendahl that one is brilliant and beautiful.
So..go see it

I remember enjoying Trauma. Who cares if a severed head looks a little shonky. Sure we've all seen worse . . .

theres been a lot of discussion as OPERA being Argento's best film
i disagree
i wasn't a big fan of TRAUMA
THE CARD PLAYER was ok
GIALLO is not a good film really, which is probably why he disowned it
DO YOU LIKE HITCHCOCK? - a very good and quite gory tv film
MOTHER OF TEARS - said before i enjoyed this despite some mad scenes
THE STENDAHL SYNDROME - underrated giallo
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - the reason why Argento made this as there were some reviews stating hes made one OPERA so why this, is because the '43 version was the first horror film he saw and wanted to adapt his version and i like his film again despite some mad scenes
SLEEPLESS is an underrated giallo imo as i was longing to see this film for some time
PELTS and JENIFER are very good - like the former better
DRACULA - remains to be seen but i'll end up buying the dvd eventually

I think Sleepless is massively underrated, probably to the extent that if it were by a different director it would receive higher praise... but that's just me of course :P

A fair summing up and one i agree with nearly 100%

I quite enjoyed Giallo myself. A decent thriller, totally different from his older works.

Exactly. It's not a bad movie, but... without the "Directed by Dario Argento" in the opening credits I wouldn't associate this movie with the master.
A decent thriller, yeah, but not an Argento flick.

Greetings!
