Some pictures from 'Buio Omega'! Apparently the transfer has been completed in 2K from the 16mm O-neg to 1.66:1 Aspect Ratio

No - I don't know what that means either!!

It's due to be submitted to BBFC shortly...

Basically, there will be slight black bars at the sides of your widescreen TV screen. Not as big as if you were watching a full frame (1.33:1) picture, but it won't fill the frame like most broadcast TV, which is 1.78:1, would.

As for the 16mm O-neg, I think that basically means the original film stock. Bearing in mind The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was filmed in 16mm, I have very high hopes.

I'm not a fan of the colors in these 88Film transfers.
It's like they went to far with the "warm" settings.

Just compare 88Films Zombie Holocaust, with Severin, where they did some color correction, and brought back some color to the transfer:

The pic on the left shows that the 'holocaust' is on the horizon.
The atmosphere is compressed due to a hot weather front clashing with a cold upblast on the gulfstream from the south.
Hence the difference in colour to the Severin pic,as there's was shot during the summer months and the 88 pic was shot on an autumn day......

I'm flying over to England to visit friends in Brighton.
We are going to London on Saturday, and I might try to look for a few Blu-Rays on sale, while I'm there.
What stores should I look for, if I wanna pick up a few 88Films and Arrow discs?
Or are there any good stores in Brighton as well?

HMV - there should be one in Brighton and you'll find the biggest in the country on Oxford Street, London. Also look out for Fopp.
