I really love their Italian and Asia line, but that Slasher line sure is filled with a lot of shit. Many of them aren't really slashers to begin with.

How about releasing some proper slasher classics, like Hell Night, Prom Night, The Prowler, My Bloody Valentine, House on Sorority Row, etc.

Happy Hell Night is probably one of the worst films I've ever seen.
Blind bought it on DVD 10-15 years back, and it was a torment to sit through.

Sure, they still put out some classics at times.
But it feel more like quantity before quality, with these bottom of the barrel titles.

But I guess they still sell well for them.
So I shouldn't complain

Yes i agree with you on Happy Hell Night. I have the old US Anchor Bay dvd, like you i guess. It's not wonderful by any means. Having said that i have watched it two or three times.

I got Return to Horror High from Poundland one Halloween and after watching it once, I highly doubt it will leave my shelf again (unless I'm rearranging!)
So many decent enough slashers out there, so this choice baffles me somewhat

The House on Sorority Row or a Slumber Party Massacre box set would be ideal.

Scream Factory have just/are releasing Slumber Party 2 & 3, so there's obviously HD masters out there. I've only ever seen the first one (via the SF Blu) so I'd be happy for 88 to release a box set of them.
And, I've never seen any of the Sorority Row films, so same again an 88 box set would be most welcome

I think there's only one Sorority Row film. I might be wrong though.

No, you're right, I must have been thinking of another slasher series

I think you meant Sorority House Massacre?
There's two part in that series.

I understand completely about the completion angle ... but tis a bit cheeky of 88.
IMHO.
It's not the cream of the slasher crop, but it's cheesy fun and a bit of a change in tone from the others in the collection.

That said, if it was a stand-alone release and not part of the Slasher Classics Collection with the spine numbers, I would probably have passed and been happy enough with my DVD.

Just watched Ironmaster. I'm probably going to still get the Code Red version for being uncut, but the removing of part of the boar killing doesn't affect it at all, or even seem like a jarring cut. Plus, there's THAT artwork. Glad they went with the uncensored version that I sent some decent scans of.

Boobies!
