Together with the shit viewing figure.... who knows?

I read that just recently. Quite simply put, It's the BBC putting two fingers up to loyal and long time fans of the show. I, like millions of other people pay the BBC a licence fee that costs a mint every year. When you read a statement like that, you have to understand the nature of what the wolf in sheep's clothing is saying underneath in that slimey statement from the BBC. It's a killer to think that myself and many others supported the show through troubled times, and played an active part in the fandom of Who, but you read a statement like that, and it makes my blood boil even more. No Dr Who writer's, past executives on the show or actor's, except for Davison, have been vocal about it. There's a wall of absolute silence, because they know that if anyone as so much speaks in hush tones about the state of Who at the present time, they will be told to shut up or possibly never work in BBC circles again (who would want to). It's very sad to think that the BBC made the show, and now kills the show, forever.

**DAILY MAIL ALERT**

BritBox sparks 'yellowface' row after BBC and ITV streaming service runs Doctor Who episode with racist slurs and white actors wearing make-up to play Asian characters

No prizes for guessing what story was transmitted!

"BritBox has been accused of 'racism' after it put up an episode of Doctor Who where Chinese people are referred to as 'inscrutable chinks' and 'yellowfaced'.

The £5.99-a-month streaming service run by the BBC and ITV failed to put a content warning on the 1977 six-part series where white actors are also shown wearing make-up and putting on accents as they play Asian characters.

Spokeswoman for the British East Asians in Theatre & on Screen and a screenwriter for Hollyoaks and Doctors who grew up in Hong Kong, Emma Ko, told The Times the episode is 'really hard to watch because yellowface is so unacceptable now'.

'When you are somebody who was called a "Chink" in your childhood, as I have been, it is so hard to hear that word and not feel immediately a trigger reaction of how wrong it is.'"

They say as much in the comm for Talons cough. Lack of Chinese actors at the time etc etc. Quick! A Fu Manchu film might be starting on Talking Pictures ....

Extra features for the Series 12 DVD and Blu-Ray releases have been announced:
  • 10 x Closer Look behind-the-scenes documentaries
  • 3 audio commentaries
  • ‘What To Expect in Series 12’ preview
Also included will be the last New Year Special, 'Resolution'

I am unsure of this is the complete list, or whether it is a 'sampler' of what is to come. If it *is* everything, it's very disappointing

During a lull, I fell to perusing the books we have for sale, and came across the 50th anniversary annual, which explains the timeline up to that point. I was sadly interrupted by customers before I could read any further ahem ....
