Apparently there was serious consideration to offering the role of Sharaz Jek in 'Androzani' to Davis Bowie

I am watching it now. One episode a week as originally transmitted.

The telesnap episodes with surviving soundtrack is a poorly put together piece i agree with everyone else but unlike some i don't find it dull or unwatchable.

Yes they could have made an effort and added the opening and closing credits but the way it's presented is fine. To me the telesnaps aren't that different from some of the animated episodes. Not all, some are really well animated but others aren't.

Like me, i'm sure you grew up trying to get as much info on the 'lost' stories as possible and will/should be happy that they've bothered to release it at all. I'm happy to listen to the BBC soundtrack cd's of the missing stories and always have been.

Oh yes and although i haven't watched them yet, the dvd should be worth it due to the comms and additional documentaries.

Finally i think the main problem with The Underwater Menace which people seem to blame on the disc construction is that it just isn't a very good story full stop.

Moffat has quit. No series this year, just a Xmas special, and 2017 will be his last.

The new showrunner is Chris "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" Chibnall.

Charlotte Moore, controller of BBC One, had the following to say on Steven’s departure:
Quote:
I have decided to schedule Steven’s big finale series in Spring 2017 to bring the nation together for what will be a huge event on the channel. 2016 is spoilt with national moments including the Euros and Olympics and I want to hold something big back for 2017 – I promise it will be worth the wait!

Chibnall's current showrunning job is Broadchurch and it's excellent.

Hopefully we can get back to some straightforward story telling in season 11.
