Controversy alert: I like it far more than Tomb.
So do i.

Tomb plods. The best bit is the little chat between Victoria and the Doctor.

I imagine it would be easier accessing an archive on the edge of the sun.

Well, that's real helpful, Paul...

I'd like to know how he knows there are episodes in a Tehran archive.

I've just finished Curse of Fenric. Brilliant Story.

Well, that's it. I am now a single Story away from the end. When I started this in November 2017, I wondered if it were possible to do. Never mind how much time it took up with regards to other things I watch, I wondered if I could survive the more boring Hartnell historicals, the excessive Troughton recons and some of the other Stories I was dreading that I had already seen... And yet I've somehow done it. I will never, ever do it again but I don't regret doing it. Every single one from the beginning to the end in order. I have never seen Survival... I can't wait until tomorrow to watch it.

I will of course watch the TV movie (which I've also never seen) after Survival and then move on to New Who. But from that point, I start watching the old ones out of order obviously. There is far too much I want to revisit. Marco Polo, The Reign of Terror, The Time Meddler and The Gunslingers from the Hartnell era alone are standouts I had formally never seen.

Survival was amazing. It basically felt both like the genuine end (thank god that was the last one instead of one where it would have felt abruptly cancelled) and also like a New Series Story. Very dark as well. Reminded me of Inferno a lot (it had a bit of a Planet of the Apes vibe to it as well, except the Apes are replaced by Cheetahs). Overall it seemed the program was definitely getting better when they stopped it. But I don't see how they could have saved it, it had already dodged cancellation several times since its first 4 Stories (thank god for Verity Lambert) and its luck was going to run out eventually.

The TV Movie. Meh. I loved Paul McGann though. I wish he had more adventures as the Doctor onscreen besides that and the 50th anniversary short.

'It's made my day': Call The Midwife viewers are delighted as Sister Monica Joan tunes in to watch a classic episode of Doctor Who | Daily Mail

To save anyone the indignity of clicking on the link:

"Call The Midwife viewers were left delighted when Sister Monica Joan tuned in to watch Doctor Who on last night's episode.

The elderly nun, played by Judy Parfitt, watched a 1964 episode of Doctor Who called The Aztecs, with William Hartnell playing the title character.

Although the black and white episode was only on the midwife's screen for a few moments, it was enough for Doctor Who fans to spot it and share their excitement.

The scene showed Sister Monica Joan sitting down in front of the TV to watch the action of the Time Lord.

But she was soon shut down by Phyllis Crame (Linda Bassett) who encouraged her to listen to the radio instead, saying: 'I can’t be doing with this. Grown men running about in fancy dress, making out a phone box can travel through space and time.'"

However, although viewers were overjoyed, they were also quick to point out the anomaly this created
