Tsk! Kids of today

Many (most?) VHS cassettes had trailers AFTER the film, so think of all those you have missed!

Well I didn't get to that boot sale at the weekend (found one to go to on thursday) but I went on a charity shop crawl earlier today (I may have just found a new hobby!) and picked up three semi-interesting films on VHS...

TALISMAN (late 90's Full Moon pictures release in a big box - good cover art)
THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT [AKA Sword of Gideon] (1986 action film starring Michael York & Rod Steiger)
HOUSE 2 (classic 80s horror-comedy)

Also found a load of US blu rays (some region-locked) in Cash Generator but didn't go for any of them.

EDIT...

Another scout around and I picked up the following for 30p each:-

ELECTRA GLIDE IN BLUE
THE RUNNING MAN
ROBOCOP
THE MONSTER SQUAD
DEATH WARRANT
PACIFIC HEIGHTS
NAVY SEALS

Sorry for the late reply Gag, I've just noticed your post. IMO it comes down to a number of things: 1 - It's a Jess Franco pre-cert. 2 - It's one of the hardest video nasties to track down 3 - The amount of snides that are out there 4 - It's on the highly collectable Cinehollywood label.

I'm sure that there are far more informed members than myself who can give you more detail, as in all my years I have never seen one in the flesh and unless you know the minute detail of the tape/label and cover you could see yourself losing several hundreds of pounds on a worthless fake.

Post

My mother was recently handed several boxes of assorted junk from a neighbour containing a fair few VHS rarities yours truly initially gave to him about 5 years ago when we first moved in our block. I got my old Sony Trinitron portable TV back (DVDs look better on this than they do on our LCD set imo!) along with a Sega Mega Drive and a VHS recorder with the latter two items subsequently sent to the wheelie bin by my mother. Some Vinyl records were also passed over to us with one apparently signed by late Guitarist Bert Weedon (that’s getting valued shortly). Yours truly perused the video releases and i managed to sort 'em out into two boxes. One of which went to a charity shop and the other i still have in our garage as there are some titles that may be of interest to some here seeing as i don't want 'em!

There's some old MIHK and VPD HK actioners for starters. Also, several of those big box Shaw Bros. outings issued by Warner back in the mid-80s together with the same label's Terror Vision editions of Poltergeist and Salem's Lot minus the collectors cards though if i recall rightly. Warner's The Barbarians makes an appearance also and i was pleased to see Aktiv's '90s VHS version of Django The Bastard too.

There’s also the following pre-VRA relics to go:

Virus
The Link
Midnight
White Fire
Creepshow
The Sender
Sharks Cave (no sleeve for this only the cassette inside a transparent plastic case.)
Supernatural
Exterminator 2
The Iron Master
Thor The Conqueror
Fists Of The Double K

Sword Of The Barbarians (nice trailer for Anthropophagous The Beast on this one if i’m not wrong!)
The Incredible Melting Man
Tales That Witness Madness
Hercules In The Centre Of The Earth
(Aka. Hercules In The Haunted World)
And a Maurizio Merli double-bill of From Corleone To Brooklyn and Convoy Busters.

VTC's Ator The Invincible may be boxed-up in the garage too along with EIV's Codename:Wildgeese, Commando Leopard and Zone Troopers but i'll have to double-check on these few.

If i can't sell any of the above here then they're all going to the aforementioned charity shop.

Its a fetish thing Gag. Collectors will go to extraordinary lengths for that "special item". See my 18 year search for Bloody Kids cough cough.

I love Franco but the DEVIL HUNTER is a terrible film.
