Yep! this is the one. It's terrible in so many ways but very entertaining!

Frankie, did you watch SCAR in 3D? My copy is a blurry mess with the old colour style 3D glasses.
I stuck with 2D. Something about putting 3D glasses on in front of a laptop just felt wrong.

You saved yourself a headache, that's all I can remember from watching the film in 3D.

'Headache' might be the most sensible reaction to it anyway, depending on beret tolerance threshold.

Well just got back from interstellar, not going to spoil the plot all I will say this is one of the best sci films I have ever seen emotional, intelligent and moving. A truly fantastic film that is sure to become of classic. Go out and see it. 10/10

I just got back from seeing Interstellar. It's hard to put my feelings for this film into word so soon after seeing it but my first reaction is that this is an amazing film. This is not just a big budget mindless blockbuster padded out with special effects to make up for lack of story. This is a very deep meaningful beautiful film. A must see for any fan of film not just Sci-Fi.

Total Recall (2012)

A second loose film interpretation of Philip K. Dick's short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. Although different to the first and indeed the the authors story due to the Mars element being removed and the whole thing set solely on Earth.

Light on sci-fi exposition and heavy on action, Total Recall is an enjoyable ride with some tremendous set pieces and locations which constantly reminded me of the film version of Blade Runner, another K. Dick story.

Colin Farrell does ok but he's no Schwarzenegger, yet what the film really lacks is a classic baddie. The lovely Kate Beckinsale being the main villain. Unfortunately she's no Michael Ironside, who was just as memorable from the 1990 film as it's Austrian star.

Fans of action science fiction should find something to enjoy from this, however Philip K. Dick fans should probably look elsewhere.

Gothika

I saw this when it first came out and could not remember much about it, so though I would give it another spin. The main story line is happily married Halle Berry works in a women’s mental institution and through circumstances best left for viewing ends up inside herself as a patient. Robert Downey Jnr, once her lecherous colleague is now her main carer and treats her like the supposed loon she is. There is a thriller filling, wrapped up in a supernatural tortilla that works quite well but will never really test your grey cells. There are some atmospheric moments and good skewered camera angles thrown in, with some especially good lighting and to top it all off, many shots of Halle's berries either wet from the rain or struggling to get out of the extremely tight institutional outfit. All in all better than I remebered but will stay on Netflix and not on my hallowed shelves. 6/10
