Has anyone read the book on which Death Sentence is based (the sequel novel to Death Wish)? and would it have made a better film than the released version of Death Wish II?

Death Sentence is a great film with an awesome Kevin Bacon performance and nasty John Goodman, of James Wan's directorial efforts this is his best and what about that parking garage one take tracking shot....

watched Jackie Chan's new The Spy Next Door film which was pretty bad but two things made it watchable, the first being Jackie, who is always watchable and the second being the villain played by lazytown legend Sporticus. The problem with Jackie's American films is that they too safe, all wire work and stuff, but what made me laugh was the opening shows clips from his earlier hong kong films like armour of god and police story, that the Spy Next door is a kids film and that the target audience are too young to see them...i will give it this though, it's a billion times better than The Tuxedo...

Just finished watching The Man From Hong Kong (again). Its a co australian/hong kong production starring Jimmy Wang Yu and George Lazenby directed by Brain Trenchard-Smith and with fight choegraphy by Sammo Hung. They dont make action films like this any more, there's tonnes of car chases, kung fu fighting galore (even though it's a little slow and clunky by todays standards) and some truely death defying stunts. Stand out scenes include an epic bral between Wang Yu and Aussie stuntman extrodinare Grant Page, Sammo Hung in a cameo being chased to the the top of Aires Rock by an aussie cop and having a fist fight on the summit and George Lazenby on fire!!! And thats only some of the Action! A real treat for fans of the genre. |
