Can I revise my opinion and say this is the gentlest CO cough cough. Barely a whiff of sordidness here, just a case of fishes out of water finding their feet etc.

As someone who's dad was a rozzer in the 60's - 80's (he worked the vice squad in Southampton in the late 60's and early 70's), can I just say that this is very close to what it was actually like!

Ahem. Jim Dale is the stooge in a tale of disorder and deceit in the wild wild west ... or wherever
The cast ramp it up somewhat, remember that this is the one where KW actually injured himself for his art, misaligning his jaw in order to achieve his aims, and it rocks along at a decent pace. Hawtrey playing the local native american bigwig is more noticeable for the amount of drink he knocks back on screen than any racial insensitivity harumph.

Listened to the "comm" on Terror, which consists of just over an hour of NJW, whose audio could have been boosted slightly imho, informative as always but still. Hmmmm.

The Siege (2023, Brad Watson)

I can't quite put my finger on it, but all I could think of during certain scenes was the word camp ahem.
Is it that the the lead resembles one of those wrestler dolls you used to get? Hmmmm.
Yes there is the woke, but it doesn't get in the way of the kicking and the punching. well ...
Seriously, I'm still sitting here wondering about this rather by the numbers actioner. Was it just the "location"? Hmmm.

I'd honestly say that the last time I watched this one would have to have been the faded print I perused on late night ITV ahem. To say this was a revelation (the BD etc) etc etc.
A young man finds his calling in life is to create life. A noble cause ... surely? Sadly tunnel vision blinds us to the consequences of our actions ...
I'll stand up and say that this one was never one of my "go to"s tbh. But I'll be returning to this burg sooner rather than laterer.

Frankenstein & The Monster From Hell (1973, Terence Fisher)

Cushing's syrup is the scariest thing here tbh.
Shane Briant appears in another Hammer film. You'd think they were trying to tell us something ahem.
Landing in hot water after following in the Baron's footsteps, our Shane meets up with said noble in a rather handy set of circumstances.
What I learned from this one is that luckily mental health services have improved somewhat since this period cough cough.
Was nice to see the Troughton and all.

What a surname ahem.
Cornish caper.
A woman does a job. Routine is her watchword. Eeking out an existence between supply drops, her world begins to fold in on itself. Or does it?
This one needs a rewatch. The radio drops hints. Yet again, the past impinges on the present. There is a Folk element ahem. It did remind me of a thing called Galavant, but that was mainly the scenery, which did also remind me of some places nearby. Ahem. 90 min!!!
