Upcoming UK Blu-ray Releases

I thought Phantom was only coming from them on DVD?

Edit: Just checked Amazon, it's up for preorder. They said it was DVD only when asked and it wasn't listed last week

Really glad that ones coming to Blu-ray. Been meaning to pick it up for ages.

They must have only just decided on it, because when asked they said it was DVD only, which is why I've not bothered seeing as I have the MGM disc

Its been out on blu ray in Germany for ages now so it makes sense they release it on blu here. 101s 'Cult Horror Collection' range is great, its good to have an indie label like them here in the UK. I enjoyed their releases of LORD OF ILLUSIONS and DOLLS too, both transfers were really impressive.

Very strange. The German disc is apparently an upscale, and I was under the impression that MGM doesn't have an HD master of this.

That's what I thought, I'd heard the PQ on the German disc was terrible too

It's basically everything cut together into one really long cut of the film. Will give it a try but bearing in mind pacing is everything with Re-animator i'm still skeptical over how good a 105 minute cut of the film will actually be. Hopefully i'll be proved wrong. Glad I waited though as I much prefer the cover art of the UK release (though would have been nice to have the origional poster art)

The integral cut is good to have (I have the 3-disc German blu) but it does harm the pacing, a lot.

I found the PQ ok on the German blu. Its not pristine but its quite sharp, colourful and without much print damage/debris. Far better than, for example, the US blu ray of BLACK CHRISTMAS (an obvious upscale).

Just had confirmation from Amazon that Second Sight's BD of Society has been cancelled, wondered when they were gonna remove it seeing as SS said it was cancelled weeks ago
